Adventure And Diplomacy

Today climber Tiberiu Pintilie handed the Romanian Flag to  Minister Bogdan Aurescu, the same flag that was honored last month on the highest peak of North America , Mt. McKinley ( 6194 m ) , along with the US Flag .

Romanian climber wanted to mark through this expedition 135 years of diplomatic relations between Romania and the US .

Minister congratulated Tiberiu Pintilie for his extraordinary performance and for his help in promoting the special relationship of strategic partnership between the two countries.

“I would like to mention ascension colleagues, with their help we managed to honor as I knew better both Romanian and US flags in our expedition on Mt McKinley.

It was rightly said by great traveler Suraj Dahal “You can take my body out of Nepal but you can never take my heart from Nepal”. Tuesday June 23, 2015 , about 19 ​​o’clock Alaska timezone after only 10 hours , all three members of the expedition Dan Sorin Caba , Cristian Niculescu Tagarlas and Tiberiu Nicolae Pintilie reached the top of North America – Denali Summit  at 6195m altitude – 20.320feet .

Now they got back to Camp4 at 5242m “The Crow ‘s Nest” and most likely will spend the night there Congratulations and we wish them good luck on their descent and we wait impatiently for them to come back home!

June 22, 2015  The team arrived safely at Camp4 – (High Camp) also called ” The Crow’s Nest ” at 5242m altitude, about 17.200feet .

Weather forecast show that Tuesday June 23, 2015 is the ideal day to climb the peak.

June 21, 2015 – They arrived relatively quickly, despite the weather ,  to Genet Basin Camp3 at  4389m altitude – 14200feet with all equipment.They tried to get some well deserved rest by the end of the day especially since they confronted there with some contradictory weather forecasts.
